I praise God for the gift of family. I feel so blessed to have the love and support of my siblings, from the time we lost our parents from an early age till now. We went through the roughest time of our lives but we stayed strong and kept our faith. For the love of God kept us together and bound us in His strength. As the youngest in the brood of 6, I was completely reliant on my older sisters. I can't imagine what life would have been without them.
Three of us migrated to Australia and my only brother and 2 eldest sisters are still living in the Philippines with their own families. Australia is now our home, but distance is no object as we always keep the line of communication open and constant.
Whenever possible, my sisters and I try to get together for a quick rendezvous. Below is my sister Evelyn. One Sunday she dropped by for a quick cup of tea with some goodies from our local farmers' market.
Thank you all for visiting and for leaving your lovely comments. It sure does make my day sweeter.
Wishing everyone a happy week!
This week I'm joining Martha's Favourite for Tea Cup Tuesday
Katherine Of The Dedicated House for Anything Blue Friday
Sandy of Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday
I gave her a bunch of Chinese Chrysanthemums (from our garden).
We enjoyed some choc brownies, croissants, passion fruit and white choc slice
These beautiful tulips added some sunshine to our tea setting
Even Ms Bee can't stop buzzing about it
Moment on our lips. Forever on our hips (but I can't help myself coz they're so yummy!)
She has an affinity for birdcages too.
My recent pre-spring bouquet
Daffodils, poppies and some sweet smelling sweet-peas
Quite perfect in my blue willow vase
Oh, I love your words about your family. My husband and son are in the Philippines now. It's a good, good, good place with beautiful people. Tea and flowers = always sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing about your family. I love your pre-spring bouquet, I have to keep reminding myself that it's a different season for you! We are just pre-fall and I'm equally excited about that!
ReplyDeleteP.S. my husband and I got married in the Philippines, on Boracay. It was beautiful!
Hurray to family! What a sweet looking sister you have!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday,

Hello my happy friend!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you and your sister Evelyn has such a sweet time together! You certainly had some delicious accompaniments! Did you bake all those goodies? I know you like to bake, (me, too!). Your porch looks so cozy and welcoming; I would spend all day out there, in peace.
Take care,
Poppy
That must have been a lovely teaparty together with your sister. These brownies, croisants and so on look so delicious. I should remember for myself the sentences " moment on our lips, for ever on our hips", haha. You made a lovely colourful pre-spring bouquet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to have family near, dear Aida!
ReplyDeleteHow fun is this tea party! Yummy....
And your lovely (almost) Spring bouquet!! It's making me wish for Spring here all over again!
Enjoy, sweet friend...
A splendid week to you,
- Irina
I am the youngest of five, my friend, so we have that in common. How nice that you spent time with your sister. I see mine occasionally too. These desserts looks so yummy, and I would love one to go with my tea right now. Your flowers are beautiful. I was wondering, is Aida your real name, or Tassell? I'd like to know what to call you.
ReplyDeleteLove,
~Sheri
Oh how lovely! A beautiful table!
ReplyDeleteI too have a close relationship with my sisters and it is the best. Your table is beautiful and thank you so much for sharing the day with us. Blessings, Martha

ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Your first day of winter is very tempting to me as it is still summer here and I am a winter person. Your tea party looks so inviting and the chocolate slice especially looks tempting. x
ReplyDeletegreat tea time - family and fun!
ReplyDeleteI am a sweet pea fan and luv your colourful bouquet [candles too!]
HapPy weekend..
Your post warms my heart. Siblings can be such a bond throughout the years. I am second, in five siblings. The more siblings the merrier, I think! We are entering almost, into the fall season, which is one of my favorite times of year.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the fires that are raging and for the people who lost their homes. A huge fire North-west of Yosemite National Park here in California left many homeless, and the wildlife will now have to migrate or I am sure a lot of wildlife was lost in the fire. There is really no telling how vast the devastation was. At least the fires did not touch the main valley floor of the park, it was miles away from it.
I was thinking of brilliantly colored birds as we only have blue birds and no tropical birds, unless you count the Macaw our backdoor neighbors keep in a cage. I do love to hear it whistle and do an imitation of a small dog...bark! bark! bark! And it also whistles a tune like a Latino if he were whistling at a pretty girl. It took me some time to figure out they had a bird, as I thought it was a real man at first whistling, then I laughed when I found out it was a bird whistling.
I need to start participating in some of these weekly tea party event likes 'Tea Time Tuesday' as I love tea cups and love drinking tea!

Have a blessed week!
