Escape to the country

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary two weeks ago. We don't normally go anywhere on our wedding anniversary but this year I thought we would escape the rat race and get out of Sydney and spend a weekend away.  I booked ourselves in a cabin in the middle of the bushland outside the city of Orange 3 hours mid-west of Sydney.

                 Tea with a view.

Love the colour of this Helebore

One morning i was surprised to find company, nestled comfortably in my jacket.

Breakfast at a local cafe was scrumptious.

      Obligatory photograph in Botanical Gardens.

We drove to the summit and walked down to the camping site of Mt Canobolas.

Our visit isn't complete without a visit to Lake Canobolas.

Thank you dear friends for visiting. Wishing you all a wonderful week.

  3. Dear Aida, what better place to celebrate an anniversary than a trip to the country? My favorite place to be, my friend. Your pictures are wonderful, and it sounds like you had a great time. Lake Canobolas is beautiful, and you should see our lake......it's so low, and we definitely need rain in California. The breakfast does look scrumptious, and those hot drinks look so good. Lovely picture of you and your husband, and wishing you a Happy Anniversary, dear Aida.

Beautiful photos of the Australian bush - we lived in Sydney for two years.... a long time ago now and I know it is wonderful to escape the rat race of a big city Aida.
