Tea in my new garden shed

I am grateful for being married to a man who has a lot of talents, one of them is being a handy man. When we bought our property eight years ago, there was hardly any plants or trees in it. The first thing that my husband built was the chicken coop, so we can have some fresh eggs everyday. He didn't waste time and build the garden beds, which have proven to be the most productive source of food after the eggs. Looking through blogs, Pinterest and Instagram I became obsessed with garden sheds, whilst the inspiration started. What we had in mind was something old, recycled, rustic with a bit of old-barn feel to it.  So my husband started looking online for some old wood sleepers, old timbers and any materials from a demolition site. We were lucky enough to find some odd materials here and there and so the construction began... Hello dear friends, it feels like eternity since the last time I posted on my blog. Life has been busy with work, new puppy, and the construction of our new garden shed. Please scroll down below to check out the photos of the whole construction process.

Thank you for visiting. I am joining Bernideen for Tea in the Garden Sandi for Tea Time Tuesday , Martha for Tea Cup Tuesday, Rooted in Thyme for Simple and sweet Friday

Coming home from work, I always look forward to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea.

Cyclamen means winter is coming or already here. I love the contrast of bright yellow chair against the old timber wall.

When it comes to tea, I am not fussy. May it be fresh, dehydrated, or dried, they all taste good to me.

Couple of pumpkins from last days of autumn

My take on Nigella's Nutella Cheesecake recipe,

  1. SNAP!.... the first thing my hubs did when we moved in to our property is build a chook house....then build veg garden.....and now we are planting trees, roses, wisteria etc . Love your pics.. it looks wonderful! xxxx

  2. Aida Oh, today I was just thinking about you, how are you doing. I brought you my thoughts :-)
Very nicely you write about your husband. It's certainly a unique guy.
Altana looks wonderful ... envy and also think about how to build it in our garden. We also will build my husband. Just like your built a chicken coop and a shed for wood. He is not a carpenter. It is a therapist :-) it but it calms him. Still i think u you is autumn now and I have summer time ... how interesting the world is made :-)
Dear, I wish you pleasant and family moments in the new gazebo! Greetings

  3. Very cool, Aida! You are such a lover of HOME! I really like that about you!

  4. Very nice and it is so wonderful being married to a handyman, who can build/do almost anything. I miss that and working with my dear husband on projects.

Enjoy this space of yours and give your hubby a big hug for all of his hard work.

Have a wonderful week ~ FlowerLady

  8. Dear Aida,
It's nice to see that you posted again. I have missed you. Yes, a cup of tea is just the right thing, especially on those hectic days. These are wonderful pictures, and I loved seeing your pumpkins from last Autumn. The nutella cheesecake looks scrumptious. Jess really likes nutella. I look forward to seeing your garden shed when it's finished.

I hope you're enjoying these June days, Aida.
