Love New York

Hello dear friends, hope you had a wonderful Christmas break spent with family and friends. I am still on holidays until mid January. Not that I am complaining, in fact I am savouring every minute of it. Here are some photos of New York City. I must admit I fell in love with it. Not only for its outstanding landmarks and parks but for its people too.  I find New Yorkers jolly, patient, polite and friendly. I love their positive attitude towards life, especially in a difficult situation.
Here are some of our pictures of New York. Please pardon my photos as I only used my IPhone to take them. And at this stage my computer pooped itself so here I am blogging using my IPad.
I will be uploading photos of Yosemite and Grand Canyon this week.
Thank you dear friends for your kind messages and for your friendship over the past years.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week.

The soft light in Central Park was breathtaking. The icy lakes speak of beauty trapped in time, waiting for the next season when its surroundings awake to a brand new day.
Taking selfies was undeniably handy.
A sit down was necessary, to take in everything that we saw
It was very cold and chilly but I didn't mind, for I was having the time of my life
Top of the Rock tops it all
Even 5th Avenue got me going

There were squirrels everywhere.
I can't believe I was just up there
Statue of Liberty surely stole the party

Oh how festive everything was

Manhattan Bridge -last two days of our stay in New York was a little drizzly. Hard to take a very clear picture.
And the famous Brooklyn Bridge
Walking in blustery conditions from Washington DC station didn't dishearten us, for we knew Mr Lincoln would be waiting for us, and that was enough to make our day complete.
The Rockefeller Centre
My daughter would like a picture, before we get inside The Met.
The Grand Central station, so grand that there's nothing like it.
Times Square by day

Dinner at Applebee's

One of my favourite things...M & M's store

Times Square by night
The Rockefeller Centre, during the lighting of the Christmas tree
The path to ground Zero

  3. Oh Aida, thank you for sharing your photos of New York City. That is one place that I'd love to visit. My niece lives there and she says it's sooooo cold during the winter months. Central Park is lovely and still has Autumn's beauty with the trees and bushes in golden oranges. The pictures of you and your daughter are special and will be a reminder of your wonderful trip together. And the Christmas tree lighting with the PURPLE in the background looks dazzling. Purple is my favorite color of all. Look at those M & M bins - love those too. I didn't realize that the squirrels were all about. You have painted a pretty picture in my head of New York City. Now, I want to go there more than ever.

Happy New Year, my friend. I wish you peace and lots of love in the days ahead.
